How To Style: Chrissy’s Knee High Socks – Bermuda, Bahama (Part Two)

So what did you guys think of look one number of Chrissy’s Knee High Socks? Are you excited for look number two? I originally had an entirely different look planned for this! I wanted to go with a “Oops I Did it Again” – Britney Spears type of thing, but then I decided that wasn’t really my style and flipped the whole thing upside down!

img_6648

The socks were pink and gray Argyle style and they remind me of the Britney Spears video don’t they?! Or preppy girl 101 hah! I took a different route.  Something that was wild and bright.

I went with one of my favorite shirts – it’s a silky all over print retro styled fish button up blouse.  It’s very hard to pair with anything due to the wildness of the print, both color wise and pattern, so I always go with something really out there! The shirt really does give off a retro vibe, so I decided to add on some round pink glasses, Bermuda shorts and a pink beanie.

The socks are even thicker than the ones with prints on them.  Since the pattern is so complex, they have pretty much a double layer for the gray and then one for the pinks.  It came in super handy because lately it’s been very cold and it even rained yesterday!

The look was topped off with a gold necklace that had pearls and pink hearts and a gold “Bonjour” belt from ShopLuvB.com’s “Bonjour Dress”.  I went with a lilac lipstick color which I have since fallen in love with!

Since the look had a hippy – 70’s vibe, I decided to kick off my shoes in the middle of the shoot and curl my toes, so to speak.

What do you think of look number two? Are you into all these amazing designs and styles of Chrissy’s Knee High Socks so far? Get ready for the next look! It’s just as wild as the first two! x

How To Style: Chrissy’s Knee High Socks – Stoner Vibes (Part One)

Hey guys! So this past week I had the pleasure of styling some AMAZING knee high socks from an awesome company called “Chrissy’s Knee High Socks” which sells AMAZING socks in all forms, thigh highs, knee highs, all styles including all over print, striped, argyle, neon, plaid, the list can go on and on! Anyway, I am styling FIVE different looks with FIVE VERY DIFFERENT styles of knee high socks! Since there are five looks, I’m breaking each post up into one look each.  My first look is very purple! I’m so in love with these purple knee high socks, featuring marijuana leaves in teal and lavender colors!

img_6626This is prepping for the shoot!

img_6623

Since these are marijuana leaves, I wanted to give the look a stoner vibe. I also got fully into it and rolled a blunt for the look. HA!

img_6620

These socks are AMAZING. Ironically, as MUCH as I love these socks, they are NOT even my all time FAVORITE pair of socks that I received they have so many styles and looks, I really couldn’t decide and want to start a collection! I would literally wear knee high socks every day in high school with my pants rolled up to my knees, chucks and a band tee! Old school!

img_6634

img_6636

I’ve been really feeling the “candid” look of photos lately so I love the random ones where I’m walking or doing something instead of just posing.  They’re getting so old. Anyways! Each pair of socks that Chrissy’s Knee High Sock’s provided are super comfortable and thick, but not TOO thick where you can’t get your pants to roll up over them if that makes sense.  They keep you warm, but are fully flexible too!

It’s amazing how many purple flowers are in my neighborhood. They’re literally all over the place! So Chrissy’s Knee High Socks is DEFINITELY my new favorite spot for all types of socks and for all occasions especially holidays! My purple JERK hat is off my new collection “LIGHTS” from I’m A Jerk Industries now sold at my portfolio (still trying to get the shop up, having some problems so sorry!).

Yum, Yum, Yum: Chobani Simply 100 Crunch

As most of you know, I’m working on eating a more balanced diet, and have been setting up meals that have all of the food groups.  I’ve been sitting around and binge eating sweets it’s causing a lot of health issues for myself including my asthma!  So I’ve been working on eating more nutritious meals and balancing my diet to include all food groups each time I eat as well as being more active! My pals over at Chobani Yogurt took an interest in my healthy way of eating a nutritional balanced diet, and wanted to encourage me AND my followers to do the same!

Chobani is releasing some new Simply 100 CRUNCH flavors for the new year, that are the same great tasting yogurts, but each of them only contains 100 calories, and are packed with a CRUNCH! The new flavors include Blueberry Cookie Crumble, Strawberry Chocolate Truffle, and Mango Cone Crisp.

I have decided in addition to eating healthier at each meal, that I’m going to start doing my favorite thing again – running while listening to music.  Not everyone loves to be active, so Chobani has offered a variety of fun ways that you can loose 100 calories which makes eating their new yogurt flavors or any of the flavors in their Simply 100 lineup virtually ZERO calories!

chobani_100cal_12version (1)

Aren’t these just the cutest activities? Everyone (well… mostly everyone) loves yoga! Your dog DOES need that walk you’ve been putting off, ice skating isn’t going to last forever! It’s going to be spring soon so grab those skates!  I love how their poster is purple! Just want to throw that out there!

So stay healthy this year by grabbing a snack – any of Chobani’s Simply 100 or Simply 100 Crunch flavors (I recommend the Strawberry Chocolate Truffle (mmm, so good!) pick your favorite activity and enjoy this ZERO calorie snack. You can now (for a limited time only) enjoy $1 off your favorite yogurt by heading to their The Light’s That’s Right website and printing out a coupon (this is a DIFFERENT website than their regular site).  Tell me which activity you choose, which yogurt flavor out of the Simply 100 Crunch flavors turns out to be your favorite, and why you choose them to be healthy!

Follow Chobani on Twitter, Like their Facebook page & of course follow them on Instagram!

Beauty Basics: Chosungah 22 Foundation + Flavored Lipstick(s)

Hey guys! It’s been a really hectic week for me! I was in a car accident and currently don’t have transportation, my sister is going to give birth to my niece any second and I have a new favorite lipstick from a company named Chosungah 22!

First of all, I got some pretty amazing goodies in the mail from Chosungah 22 which is a new makeup company from Korea created by the artist named Chosungah! I would like to mention that the packaging is absolutely amazing and colorful!

img_2579
They sent me two different foundations a liquid and a compact. The colors I got was Porcelain which they guessed on and ironically matches my skin really well!

The others I thought were shades of lipstick but are actually flavored lipsticks that have a slight tint and are more of a chapstick! I got Chai Tea (Clear Tan), Golden Peach Tea (Pink) & Guava Tint Jello (Red-Orange).

The cases are black matte with the tint color in on the number.  Overall I think the packaging is insanely beautiful and packaging definitely matters!

My favorite has to be the Chai Tea because I drink Chai almost everyday! I apply it almost constantly, because I love it so much! The only downside is the flavor of the lipsticks aren’t too strong, which is why I apply it so much.

I absolutely love everything they sent to me! The foundations are now my main ones. I love the sponge at the top. You push a button to make the liquid come out and makes it really easy to blend!

Tomorrow I will post a makeup tutorial using my new foundations, as well as show all three tints of lipsticks! You should definitely check out their website & like them on Facebook! I can’t wait to see what else they have to offer! Stay tuned for my tutorial post! xo

Behind the Scenes: Modeling vs. Styling

I wanted to touched base on the different types of “photo shoots” that are put together for Rosie Says Hello.  Their are basic styling or “how to” guides, which is my own personal closet or clothing in the form of a styling tutorial where I’ve given some thought into each of the outfits or ideas themselves.  For example, How To Style “A Dress Different Ways” or “I’m A Jerk Wraps 12 Ways or even “Baseball Caps”.  I’ve had some friends come to me for advice on styling particular types of clothing like skater skirts (it’s scheduled to be shot!).  These “styling guides” are like I said ideas that I’ve thought of or have been asked to do and come from my own personal closet.

8688035506_00a7baf4aa_oAll articles from this How To shoot were from my own closet.  (The Cramps tee was provided by Franky’s Boutique but was given to me for styling on a DIFFERENT shoot [I’m A Jerk Magazine A/W 2010] a few years PRIOR to this styling guide), and therefore this was not promoting a product, but rather a written styling tutorial using my own personal style and closet of clothing.

A sponsor shoot is also different, but can sometimes be thrown into a mix of a styling tutorial.  For example, I once had Vegas.com ask me to put together a styling guide on what I would wear to Vegas to feature on their website.  Although it was a “sponsor shoot”, they didn’t provide any of the clothing, and only featured the written styling tutorial on their website.  A sponsor shoot would be when a particular company sends me an item of clothing or jewelry (even a beauty product for review, etc.) and I then put together a styling tutorial based around their piece to help promote them!

DSC_1152Dress was provided by Biology Boutique which shortly was used in a giveaway between Rosie Says Hello’s followers and Biology Boutique’s followers!

There are TWO more types of photo shoots but mainly fall into the same category which would be an actual modeling photo shoots.  Obviously on a “real” photo shoot (unless it’s for portfolio purposes), you aren’t going to be using your own personal clothing, there will usually be another stylist, makeup artist and your look may change several times throughout the shoot, etc.  These I very RARELY style myself, however on one occasion I had an online magazine ask me to style a basic t-shirt promoting their magazine not their clothing.  That event was very rare, but I feel it falls more into the modeling photo shoot rather than a sponsored style shoot especially since it’s a lifestyle magazine and not a fashion, style or beauty magazine.

Rose-PonyBoyTee-0335This is the particular shoot I was speaking of.  It was for the lifestyle magazine “The Name’s Ponyboy” and had three different sections one featuring a full outfit with the shirt + sticker, second being just the shirt + sticker and third just me and the sticker 😉

I hope this helps separate sponsored shoots from styling tutorials to actual modeling jobs.  I’m going to make a list so you can see what is going to be posted (and so I can keep track of what needs to be posted) I once again will also be posting these articles, all my previous modeling jobs, all my previous acting & crew work jobs as well as my personal style posts and product reviews.  Other section of the website that I really want to bring back is the “Horror Movie Review” section because I had a LOT of fun posting about horror movies and reviewing them.  Horror movies are one of my favorite things next to watercolors and flowers 😛 Stay tuned! Another article or post should go up tonight!

I have to style for the shoot tomorrow still! x
