Style: Wedding Dreams With Amodabridal

Every girl begins planning her wedding when she’s a young girl. The older I get the more I tend to plan the small details, including colors, flowers, cake type & flower, etc. The most important part of of a girls special day is of course the amazing wedding dress.

The dress says it all. In my mind, I wanted to get a sleeveless white dress with a body figure top that bellows out into a huge long ankle length dress (similar to that of the dress in “A Cinderella Story” starring Hilary Duff). When the day finally comes, I’m quite sure that will change. There are SO MANY different types and styles of wedding dresses now days. Vintage dresses, short dresses, black dresses, big dresses, long dresses that flow without the huge skirts, even two piece dresses that bare mid drift.

The traditional style of wedding dresses are becoming less and less popular and the unique styles are catching everyone’s eyes. During my browse, I found an amazing dress that caught my eye. The dress is from Amodabridal.

The Mother of the Groom & Bride Dresses Austalia Online

Scoop Short Graceful Sleeves Beading Floor-length Mother of the Bride Dresses Wollongong

The dress is somewhat traditional but I would spice it up with a vintage effect like one of the large side sun hats that they have for some of their dresses. Probably in a silver, while my bridesmaids wore a lavender/lilac dress with a vintage style and similar matching hats. I think I would also add some elbow length white gloves either lace or silk? What do you think? I’m LOVING the off shoulder/no sleeves look even though it has them on it! An “adult” version of the dress simple change, yet still classy! Check out their dresses and tell me what you would have for your wedding! XO

Latest Obsessions: Human Hair Wigs

So sorry for my lack of blogging lately, im trying to make up for it just haven’t had internet at my “new” place and now moving/apartment hunting again.

Anyways, my friend recently introduced me to a brand new love: wigs! Her mother is a licensed cosmetologist, so she knows how to put the wigs naturally over your real hair, and they look just like your real hair! With that said, I’ve started looking for different types of wigs for each of my lifestyles, and daily needs! I found an amazing website called COCOWIG, that sells amazing natural human hair products!

Curly Human Hair Wigs for Females Online

My obsession of collecting has begun! The only time I dabbled with any hair items was back in 2010 for the feature film WEEKEND where I played the role of “Emma”. I used clip in’s of several colors, because her hair was supposed to be dyed several different colors, but it ended up being black with little strips of pink, purple, blue, etc.

Now that I know how to style wigs and make them look natural, I definitely want to get some and practice dying them ombré or even that amazing rainbow trend where all the colors of the rainbow are underneath, and when styles looks so incredibly beautiful! I want to invest in every color and change daily, and I think I finally figured out how to do it without damaging my hair by dying it daily haha!

Check out COCOWIG.com for all natural human hair needs.

Confessions of a Shopaholic: 99 Cent Store Haul For December

I should of posted this blog first but oh well! Late last month I went on a mini spree at the 99 Cent store lol not much just started to replace all my stolen items. Oh I never told you guys that. Sorry, the reason I’ve been so inactive is due to issues in my personal life including my previous roommates stealing all my shoes, clothes, beauty & hygiene products and my school/business supplies including all my notebooks, comp books, index cards, daily planner yada… So getting my head back on straight replacing all my stolen items including my entire wardrobe and shoe collection has been going… Actually rather well considering all the obstacles in my path. Anyway here’s a little bit of what got it started! I got some new post it’s (SO SAD MY COLLECTION AND VARIETY OF SIZES AND SHADES OF EVERY COLOR POST ITS AND INDEX CARDS NEED TO BE REPLACED).

Decided to grab two Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful Facial Masks/Cleaners including the Pineapple Enzyme Mask and the Blackberry Gel Facial Cleanser which I now use daily for my face instead of my old ones.

I do still remove my makeup with either Neutrogena Wipes or Say Yes To Cucumber Eye Makeup Pads / Say Yes To Blueberry Facial Cleanser Wipes / Say Yes To Cucumber Makeup Remover Wipes. (Not sure if they’re cucumber I need to check)

I also got some double gloves (removeable fingerless gloves + regular pair underneath) in lavender 🙂 I got these Mosturizer Gloves (they have socks too…) to try out because they looked interesting! I got a new magenta notebook (cuz you know I have to replace them in several colors in totals of about 5-10 notebooks each all of different shades or designs to match my five businesses). I also got a new plastic purple water bottle (not pictured). I also got a purple mason jar perfect for anything (water glass, art holder – brushes, paint water, etc.) literally anything! I want to carry these in my new shop Lilac Babes so badly! Lastly, a small lavender blanket. I didn’t realize how small it was until afterward. I want to go back and buy the larger ones in purple and lavender 🙂

I’m slowly replacing my items one by one just need time. I have gotten some really cute clothing since then though! NEEED to take photos ASAP! 😉

This was my first round of replacing stuff. I got a new purple toothbrush as well, but thankfully I found all my old ones as well (electric, lavender, purple dolphin, and now my regular purple brush). This is going to be hard especially since I’m in between jobs as of late December, but it will be one fun adventure replacing a shoe collection and wardrobe that large! What do you think? x

Product Review: Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful “Pineapple Enyme

Hey guys, so one of the new facial masks I got is of course made by my favorite “Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful”. It’s the Pineapple Enyzme Mask for smooth skin. The mask is a clear thick liquid that dries while it sits, but isn’t a peel off mask like some of the others!

The mask made my skin smoother, however my face needed a deep cleaning mask for my blackheads & acne at the time. So after it was done, it cleared up some, but definitely not all of it. It did leave my skin feeling smoother and of course my pores a lot smaller. In return that made my face feel soft and younger/tighter skin. It also made the smell red blotches disappear.

The mask worked nicely especially if you’re acne isn’t too big of a problem for you. It’s not one of my favorites from them however (I’ll make a list of my favorite hair, makeup & skincare products for you guys soon). I’ll definitely use all of it, but I don’t know if I’ll be purchasing it again simply because it’s not my first choice from their brand. A free gift of it would be lovely though. I would definitely use it again. Recommendations are try it out if you don’t have too many acne problems.

A few of my favorites are the Charcoal & Black Sugar POLISHING mask which is black chunks of small sugar balls for dual intense deep cleaning or the Sweet Tea and Lemon Peel Off Mask & the Dead Sea Mud Mask for regular facial masks or “Say Yes To Tomatoes Mud Mask” for regular skin is amazing too. xo

Beauty Tips: How To Maintain Red Hair

Hello all my favorite people! Guess what today is? NATIONAL RED HEAD DAY! If you’re a red head be sure to LOVE your red hair to death like I do. I love my red hair so much I’ve been hoarding two boxes of purple hair dye for two years now, but haven’t had to guts to say “goodbye” to the red… Even for a short amount of time!

As a, ahem boxed red head, I like to pretend it’s real. Given I guareentee you won’t find any photos of me with any other color unless I am #1 very young, #2 filming a movie (like when I went black in 2010), or auditioning for a character (like Luna Lovegood when I went “blonde”). The later was definitely NOT a good idea… (Click here to see my “photoshoot” as a blonde!)

TIP # 1 ALWAYS USE THE SAME COLOR DYE! I haven’t been able to find my color of dye Revlon Colorsilk Luminsta (for dark hair) in almost a year which sucks! I got so excited when I thought I found it I bought THREE boxes only to learn it was #161 “Red” rather than #160 “Light Red”. It came out too dark for my liking but either way better than nothing at all! HOWEVER, switching dyes from one red to another will eventually lead to disastrous results. Over time reds fade (and very quickly at that), not all of them fade to light red. Some fade to pink, orange, and so on. I had to have my hair professionally stripped at one point to “start over” because I would change my dye each time I dyed it. Never again!

After dying my hair I usually use the “Herbal Essences: Color Me Happy” shampoo & conditioner for at least a week or two. If you are looking for the BEST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET, all the professionals agree that REDKIN is by far the greatest. I also use a few other products including Yes To Coconut hair cream for my curls…

… and the Dry Shampoo in Herbal Essences line “Color Me Happy” for when I’m on the go. They sell different dry shampoo scents but this one in particular is for color treated hair! For a FULL list of hair products I use on my hair click here! For those products that I have REVIEWED click here.

TIP # 2 Make sure you get a color shampoo and conditioner. It doesn’t need to be herbal essences like mine, but since red fades so quickly you want to make sure you use this shampoo & conditioner for at least one full bottle before switching to another type. Remember that using the same shampoo & conditioner over and over can be “bad” for your hair in the long run, so I like to jump back and forth between different Herbal Essences to give my hair the full treatment – curls, hydrate, smoothness, color care, etc.) even a dry shampoo for when you’re in a rush can come in handy and I’m pretty sure your brand has one!

Now that we’ve covered basic products for after care, let’s get into the dying itself! Dying hair is really bad for your hair no matter WHAT you use to treat it. Bottom line is you are damaging your hair… And looking great in the process!

Obviously you want to start with your roots and if you didn’t know that yet, I recommend going to a salon to have it professionally dyed! I have done both, professionals are very expensive and tend to argue with you on the color you specifically want, but hey! They are the professional!

Now first, red hair is very hard to keep red, it’s not a hair color it’s a lifestyle! I have had red hair since before I started modeling. Like I said you won’t find any photos of me woot red hair unless I’m really little, so here are some tips to making your red, stay red.

This isn’t QUITE a big deal as it used to be, hair dyes have gotten A LOT better over the years, but they still make a huge mess in the bathroom & your face if you’re not careful. That is where MOISTURE WIPES come in!

TIP # 3 Makeup remover wipes, baby wipes, or even flushable wipes, are amazing at taking dye of your skin around your face, neck and hands. I used use Neutrogena, but since those are more expensive I use either a basic brand or Cottonelle flushable wipe. These wipes also remove all the spots on the sink, mirror, floor and walls if you got that far into being messy 😛

TIP #4 TEST your hair dyes before you do your full head and let it set for a while before choosing your color. Reds tend to bleed out and fade faster than any other color on the market. You are going to want to choose the dye that looks good A WEEK or so after it’s been dyed. Red hair goes through different phases when it comes out of a box. The “just dyed” look which is 1-2 days after its done and tends to be too dark. The “PERFECT” look which is after it sinks in and begins to fade. This one lasts a good 5 days to a week after the just dyed look. Then there is phase 3 “pick your dye based on this one” look. It lasts the longest and by now all your dye has grabbed onto your hair, it no longer bleeds (if it did, hair dye companies have gotten better about this too over the years). This phase lasts a good 3 weeks to a month and a half. And finally phase 4 “it’s time to dye again”. It’s starting to show your roots, the pigment has faded to more of an orange or depending on your hair color auburn, etc. it’s most likely your natural color with red mixed together.

TIP #5 Use an old towel and an old shirt to dye your hair. Red will “bleed” for a shower or two after you’ve dyed it. Companies have gotten better at this over the past few years but definitely better to be safe than sorry! It tends to leave marks on your shirt collars (esp when you sweat!) and towels when you’re drying your hair. I like to use my hot pink one, because the stains don’t even show up.

TIP #6 To hold color in longer try to leave your regular conditioner in your hair for five-ten minutes to prevent dye buildup on your hair and to keep it looking healthy. A great way to do this in your shower routine is to wash your hair first, condition it then before you rinse you can do whatever else such as shaving, washing your body etc. then the last thing you do is rinse your conditioner. Try to do this each time especially if you dye your hair a lot. Again I can’t stress enough that REDKEN is amazing at working wonders with damaged hair due to dying it! In my showers I usually use TWO conditioners “my first” the one that sits on my hair for the entire shower usually my color treatment conditioner then after I wash my body and shave, I rinse and add the conditioner that will leave its scent in my hair (usually a treatment for curls, hydration, etc.).  Some of my all time favourites include the ingredient mango butter, because it makes your hair soft and smooth.

TIP #7 Remember to keep your hair out of the sun as long as possible. Sun fades red dye really fast. I love wearing beanies year round simply because I love beanies, but this is an idea!

TIP #8 Lastly, try to plan your hair dying around your event calendar such as parties, events, graduations, dances, etc. I usually dye mine TWO days before a red carpet event for that VIBRANT I just dyed it look, and about a week before filming anything like a movie so it stays the same color throughout the filming schedule. You will need to test your dye out and figure out your own timelines!

Good luck redheads! xo

DIY Tutorial: Ariel “The Little Mermaid” Halloween Costume

So last Halloween, I decided to make a homemade costume at the last minute. Literally, the day of Halloween. This costume was completely FREE using items I already had. I decided I wanted to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid! Here is a reminder of what she wears in case for some ODD reason, you aren’t too sure.

The glitter came in a two pack at the dollar store that I bought for crafts prior to Halloween because they were purple (and green). I bought two packs. So I guess it was $2 + glue sticks 😛

This project was VERY MESSY so make sure you lay something down before attempting to try it. Oh it also came with black glitter… Well one pack did. Others had orange, I don’t remember if I bought that one or not…

I started with a purple bra that was worn out and put glitter around the rim/wire of the bra. Then I added some along the edges of the straps and started putting spiral patterns in hot glue on the main cup.

Let it dry. BOOM, my shell bra was done! Time for the pants! Miraculously I had a pair of light green leggings made out of lace that I only wore once and didn’t see myself wearing again so I decided they were perfect!

They were actually really hard to glue glitter on without having them glue themselves together so watch out if you’re using any lace products! I added glitter around the lace as much as I could and sprinkled lots of green glitter on them.

I didn’t have any shells for my hair so I took a flower from a plastic flower set that my sister had used at her baby shower and added glitter to it as well.

I put a black bra for more comfort and extra… Cup size underneath 😉

Since my leggings were lace I paired them with a pair of darker green pants that I own. This completed my “Ariel” costume in the nick of time as the sun went down!

If I had planned better I could of made it more authentic with shells, etc. for a $2 costume made hours before Halloween I think it went pretty well! People could tell I was Ariel because of my “hair” but that just happens to be my hair haha!

I’m not sure what to be for Halloween this year or if I’ll be buying it or making it, but stay tuned for a couple of other DIY costumes made from scratch (mostly using makeup) a few days or hours before the big night including superheroes, a zebra & a mime! Have you ever made a costume? What are you going to be this year for Halloween?

XO, Ariel I mean Rose 😉

How To Style: The Color Nude (Casual vs Classy) Featuring GAMISS.com

The color of Summer for ME was the color nude. I’ve been really into the simplistic nature and how you can have it be a neutral style or use color to have things POP. It’s similar to blacks, whites and grays, but different because it’s actually a “color” rathe than absence of color etc. So I’ve been adding more and more to my wardrobe in every form from nude lipstick shades, nude intimates both bras and panties (good for modeling) & even nude shoes!

These awesome nude (“apricot”) stilettos were sent to me by GAMISS! I’m so in love with how The color allows you to make an endless number of outfits.  For this article I wanted to show you two different looks that take less than a minute to change into. It allows you to dress up for an event, then walk out the door change a couple of things and you’re dressed DOWN with a completely new look for a night on the town!

Look #1 – DRESS IT UP

Look #2 – Play It Down

Look #2 – DRESS IT DOWN
For a simple switch, change up your accessories for more of a night out in the city look. Pull your hair to one side, leave it simple or quickly pull it into a side pony tail or messy side braid, and add either a hat or a beanie for a street look.

Next throw on a light jacket, long sleeve shirt, plaid or tie something around your waist like a belt.

È

You can also remove the tights, that was my original idea, but really loved how the tights looked for both outfits. The change can be subtle or dramatic either way it only takes a minute or two to switch between them leaving you with two looks for two different types of events. What do you think? How would you style these awesome nude/apricot stilettos from Gamiss.com?

Make sure you head to the gallery or my Flickr for full shoot/full sized photos! If you like these looks head to my Lookbook and hype them! Head to www.gamiss.com for amazing shoes & clothing! Follow their social media sites for awesome photos as well!

How To Style: Gold VS Gold (Classy & Casual) – SammyDress.com (Part One)

Hey my loves! So my latest shoot features the lovely accessories from SammyDress.com! The first accessory is this amazing GOLD Sequin clutch handbag that can be used for upscale classy events OR casual everyday looks! I wanted to do both, so I decided to show you how to do it!

13719484_1377899452227212_1374476399114173717_o

The purse has two different handles the short wrist one (above) and a long chain (below in second outfit).

For the classier look I went with a bohemian vibe because I owned the perfect skirt to match the bag!

For look #1 the “casual” look I paired it with a summer fun “n” fruity “Sequin Pineapple Racerback Tank Top” off my new collection for my clothing line.  The sequins of the shirt went perfect with the sequins on the purse.  I didn’t want to OVER do the sequins tho so since the purse has so many sequins I made sure to pair it with something that only had a SMALL amount of sequins.

Be sure to HYPE Look #1

Askirt_28529

Look #2 is definitely more upscale and the skirt (it’s a skirt paired with a DRESS that’s BACKWARDS!) went PERFECTLY with the clutch it was amazing.  The top half is the back part of an off-white dress.  I wore it backwards so I could have the deep V-Neck style for the look.  The skirt is a maxi skirt that is also off-white but covered in gold sequins! I decided to wear flat sandals for a bohemian look rather than heels.  Especially with the location choice for the shoot I thought the sandals would go perfect and really bring the outfit all together.

The sequin clutch can be worn literally with any style if you pair it right! Definitely one of my new staple accessories!

“It’s Forest Gump Related” (1970’s “Jenny” Lifestyle Editorial)

“It’s Forrest Gump RelI bated” was originally inspired by Kesha back in 2010/2011. However, one photo in this shoot stood out from the rest to me. It reminds me of a specific character from a popular movie. “Jenny” the love of Forrest Gump’s life. For some reason after seeing the photos the name never shook. Before we get the THE photo (or photos since there’s a good FIVE of them that make the Forest thing real), here are some other photos from the shoot.
Taken in Riverside, CA.

Shot by: Devon VP Photography
Styling, MUA & Hair: Rose Pendleton
Jewelry: Vintage, Thrift Stores, Handmade, Venice Beach, I’m A Jerk Industries, Designers, Pop Up Shops
Belt Buckle: Clandestine Industries
Fringe Bag: Wet Seal
Boots: JCPenney’s

So the first part of the shoot isn’t really related so you’re probably looking at confused like you have no idea what I’m talking about. Especially since the outfit isn’t really VINTAGE and comes no where near the 1970’s!  It was originally inspired by KESHA back when she wore feathers non-stop in 2010. After seeing the LAST part of the shoot for some reason I couldn’t stop thinking it reminded me of Forest Gump.
Let’s start at the beginning of the shoot!
 img_3859-1
So, you might recognize some of these photos because I have posted them before.  HOWEVER, I found the DISC with BOTH outfits on it and HQ resolution so I nipped my favs and here they are! (Well there’s TOO many so they’re all in the GALLERY) these are SOME of my favs! Check out the entire shoot before you leave!

The water was very green and dirty. It’s used for fishing not swimming!
img_3861
Back in 2010-2012 I was very obsessed with feathers. This feather was from the ground (not the best idea) LOL I DID LOVE all the twisted tree vines and the photos came out good very lifestyle editorial I think.
img_3871
img_3870
My style was all over the place during those years! I was into fashion but knew nothing about it at the time 😛 I would wear JEANS AND T-SHIRTS TO RED CARPET EVENTS! It’s weird to look at a timeline of my style. It’s changed so much. I’m really proud!
img_3869
img_3868
Then we found a little spot that looked like a beach OASIS type deal! Or I think so anyway lol

Here is an up close shot of the jewelry pieces.  They are handmade or vintage pieces that I got from antique stores or thift stores or designer pieces.  The feather in my hair is obviously my clothing line I’m A Jerk Industries from way back when.
img_3880
NOW! We’ve reached the last section(s) of the photoshoot.  The part that begins to remind me of the character JENNY from Forest Gump!
PART ONE – The Bus Stop / “PEACE” from War by the Army Tank
img_3878
The entire movie revolves around a bus stop so I don’t really need to explain that one…
img_3877
img_3876
Smiling isn’t probably the BEST way to act when protesting for PEACE against WAR but…
PART TWO – Fishing.  Guess it doesn’t really have anything to do with the movie, but I love how they’re silhouettes and not images of me.
img_3888
img_3890
FINAL PART – LEAVING/WALKING AWAY
this is the PART that I looked at the photos and said “It’s Forest Gump related…” I’m not sure why they remind me so much of her walking away but they do…

img_3896-1
img_3897-1
img_3892-1
img_3898-1
img_3894
img_3879
This last photo is my ALL TIME FAVORITE from the entire set… I have no idea why, I just like my facial expression mixed with my hair, the outfit and the location.  It’s an “in action” shot when I turned around.. REMEMBER this isn’t ALL of the photos! All of the EDITED photos can be found in the GALLERY OR you can view all of the UNEDITED photos (some are very dark and underexposed) on my FLICKR page.
Also, this is a rather OLD shoot so I posted this look on my Lookbook SEVERAL years ago, but feel free to HYPE my look if you like it! x
