Lifestyle: Planning My PERFECT Party

Hey guys, tomorrow is my boyfriend’s birthday and I want to plan something so perfect and fun for it! I would love to plan the perfect party and if I could go ALL out, this would be it! In California, you can pretty much enjoy the beach, and water parks all year round! One thing I always wanted at my party was A JUMPER! Inflatable Zone offers so many different ways to have an awesome and fun party or event. Everyone always had jumpers and blow up water slides leading into their pools. I was always jealous lol. So, imagine a themed dress up/costume party from the 80’s (at night) with strobe lights & black lights going around the water lots of neon signs, rollerskaters serving BBQ cheeseburgers and milkshakes on trays throughout the party.

Then of course, we have to have water balls to walk along the water so you can remain in costume if you don’t want to get wet. We could play bumper balls, and SMASH into each other! We would NEED to get a purple ones and clear ones so each ball had either black light effects (clear) or flashing strobe lights (purple) on the INSIDE (setup before the party as decor of course!)

And for those who don’t mind splashing around, a giant water blob or trampoline would be AWESOME!

If we really wanted to go ALL OUT, which we do because we need the best virtual party ever, so we could get an ENTIRE floating city!

Next we need fun activities for the people who DO NOT like water. Of course a we need TWO DJ’s one outside by the pool for the water activities, and dance floor is a must! Again lots of flashing strobe lights, smoke, black lights and balloons everywhere! This would all take place inside a fully decorated inflatable tent with a retro theme like the 80’s with neon signs, and a place to rent roller skates for half of the floor, while the other half is dedicated to dancing. Streamers hanging with confetti and a disco ball falling from the ceiling all around!

Food would consist of sweet treats like cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, marble cakes, vanilla and yellow cakes. Chocolate fountains are ready for dipping almost anything like strawberries, rice crispy treats, cookies and more. All of our drinks including teas (I mean you have to have tea…) would be fully decorated for cute effect!

Games including BUBBLE soccer where you bounce into others to take them down would be going on! A costume contest would take place to win prizes!

What do you think of my awesome event? Did you imagine it? Would you have a good birthday party if this was yours?! You can totally get these AWESOME inflatable items like the inflatable water balls, the entire water park, trampoline, jumper & huge blow up tent for your events or parties at Inflatable-Zone.com! Human bubble soccer seems great any time of year! They also have inflatable dome igloos for camping, and snow bubbles for sliding down hills!

Something great for all weather, events, parties or even just for a day of fun! Check out Inflatable Zone and then come tell me what costume you would wear to an 80’s themed birthday party!

Fashion: Bra-Blems and How To Avoid Them

I always put my bra on upside down and behind me to latch it with no problems then flip it over, and turn it around then do the straps. Does anyone else have these pesky problems when their bras? I honestly found that VICTORIA SECRETS really do make bras that fit you perfectly whereas Target bras fall apart much easier from normal wear and tear.

Lifestyle: Art – Homes Need To Be Beautiful Too

Hey guys! So I wanted to blog about the places we live in and call our homes! Homes reflect who we are as people and people definitely judge us based on how the outside AND INSIDE of our homes look!

Whether you live in a huge city, small country home, the suburbs, or along the beach coast, the place you pick to live says a lot about your personality. The inside decor from the wall colors, to the drapes, floors, and all the knick-knacks that come along with collecting and making your home “cute and personable” add to your home and make it beautiful. However, sometimes you might be busy and all your hard work in interior decor and making it special to your needs you may need some extra care around for those days. Especially in the big city with so much to do and so little time, that’s where the Handy.com Cleaning Services of New York and other major locations comes into play!

Even your beautiful garage collections need some looking after when your out on the daily 9 to 5. It’s 100% money back guarantee if you decide the service isn’t for you.

Leaving these daily tasks up to someone else frees you to have more relaxing YOU time. You can even reorganize all your bathtub knick knacks and change them up based on the seasons! Or even UPGRADE your bathtub to that old fashioned round tub, and have the Handy.com people install your plumbing, and unclog drains that cause those enjoyable baths to be a little less exotic, so let them help you out around the Holidays, and freshen up your new bathroom with an entirely new look! DIY Tutorial: Ariel “The Little Mermaid” Halloween Costume

So last Halloween, I decided to make a homemade costume at the last minute. Literally, the day of Halloween. This costume was completely FREE using items I already had. I decided I wanted to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid! Here is a reminder of what she wears in case for some ODD reason, you aren’t too sure.

The glitter came in a two pack at the dollar store that I bought for crafts prior to Halloween because they were purple (and green). I bought two packs. So I guess it was $2 + glue sticks 😛

This project was VERY MESSY so make sure you lay something down before attempting to try it. Oh it also came with black glitter… Well one pack did. Others had orange, I don’t remember if I bought that one or not…

I started with a purple bra that was worn out and put glitter around the rim/wire of the bra. Then I added some along the edges of the straps and started putting spiral patterns in hot glue on the main cup.

Let it dry. BOOM, my shell bra was done! Time for the pants! Miraculously I had a pair of light green leggings made out of lace that I only wore once and didn’t see myself wearing again so I decided they were perfect!

They were actually really hard to glue glitter on without having them glue themselves together so watch out if you’re using any lace products! I added glitter around the lace as much as I could and sprinkled lots of green glitter on them.

I didn’t have any shells for my hair so I took a flower from a plastic flower set that my sister had used at her baby shower and added glitter to it as well.

I put a black bra for more comfort and extra… Cup size underneath 😉

Since my leggings were lace I paired them with a pair of darker green pants that I own. This completed my “Ariel” costume in the nick of time as the sun went down!

If I had planned better I could of made it more authentic with shells, etc. for a $2 costume made hours before Halloween I think it went pretty well! People could tell I was Ariel because of my “hair” but that just happens to be my hair haha!

I’m not sure what to be for Halloween this year or if I’ll be buying it or making it, but stay tuned for a couple of other DIY costumes made from scratch (mostly using makeup) a few days or hours before the big night including superheroes, a zebra & a mime! Have you ever made a costume? What are you going to be this year for Halloween?

XO, Ariel I mean Rose 😉

Beauty Basics: Spring’s MUST HAVE Scent(s) – Watermelon Lemonade!

IMG_0388

IMG_0348

My all time favorite scent for Spring has officially changed! Last year I was in love with “Love & Sunshine” the Spring scent from Bath & Body works but it’s officially moved over for my new favorite!

Watermelon Lemonade, a smell so sweet I stocked up on scented candles, soap, lotion, hand sanitizers, if they had it, I bought it! It’s such a perfect scent for both Spring & Summer. Not floral but fruity with a bit of tart exactly as its described… It smells so great I want to eat it! My second favorite scent is the “Georgia Peach” it’s also another fruity one. Maybe I’m tired of the floral scents and need a change but all my favorites this year are fruit based. Third place is the Raspberry Vanilla.

What are your favorite scents during these hot, sticky months? xo

Technology: Instagram Blues

Hey guys… So the other day I was explaining to my friend why I’m so obsessed with my Instagram and why I constantly delete photos and re-add them (to my @rose.pendleton IG NOT ROSIESAYSHELLO)

My main Instagram is more of a portfolio but since I have quite a few trades obviously it’s not all just modeling. It’s supposed to be a “healthy mix” of photos with the following categories:

  • Modeling
  • Acting
  • On Set/Behind the Scenes
  • Events
  • Video
  • Personal
  • Snapchat
  • Photography

However the mix is supposed to have more modeling photos than anything because it’s a portfolio. So to sum it up the posts are supposed to go in the following order:

  • 3-5 modeling photos
  • 1 on set/backstage
  • 1 snapchat
  • 1 photography
  • 1 personal
  • 1 repost/inspiration/art

With a very SELDOM (very few) posts in the acting, video and event categories. These are supposed to happen like:

  • 1 video after 15-25 posts
  • 1 acting screenshot after 30 posts
  • 1-3 event photos only when I attend an event

Which brings me to my NEXT area of focus. Color and eye catching ORDER of the posts. When I first started it was a healthy mix of color but I noticed as I went further the colors have patterns and decided to stick with the pattern it tends to start.

For example:

This is the very beginning of my feed. It follows the category order with and is pleasing to the eye/attention grabbing. As I moved on it turned more into a yellow/golden/tan feed:

After the yellow it slowly turned into a blue feed then turned into purple:

After the purple the photos changed to a neutral black, white and gray section:

Then it flowed back into another yellow/tan/golden feed:

Which is where I currently am. The photos must FLOW and gradually change colors. I’m currently trying to get it to go into a mint green then green then blue (because I have a lot of photos to post in these colors). Not ALL photos look good next to each other. It has to have a healthy mix of horizontal and vertical while following the original categories as well as colors…

It’s my art in an art form. This is why the end of the feed which you guys see at the top/beginning is ALWAYS changing/being deleted and reposted. These are the photos I work with. It takes quite a bit of time for me to find a nice flow for the feed and when I don’t like it I just delete all the photos up to the color changing point and start over.

I hope this makes it more clear why my Instagram is always changing. I also have a lot of old photos that are really good and I want to post and I’d like to post all my old photos from specific things like events (but I can’t just post ALL THE EVENTS AT ONCE) because that’s too many events they need to be spread out. Does that make sense?

It needs to flow with the categories, color and have an eye grabbing appeal for not just myself but others as well 🙂

I love finishing a section because since it takes so much time and I spend a lot of time on it its a very good feeling to finally like a section. Haha. I hope you guys look at my Instagram in a different way because like I said its my art inside of art!

Have a good day guys!!

Photography: Editing Tutorial – “Spring Fling” (Soft & Warm Photos)

Hey guys! So I wanted to share this editing tutorial on making the photos a nice “SPRING” color.  This varies depending on the colors of the original photo.  I decided to take a few “off color” photos to show you how to change it entirely. All I did was change the white balance on my camera so the photos came out a little blue tinted instead of bright/white. Check it out.

image

image

image

Ok, so these are the “original” photos taken purposely for this tutorial (which is why they aren’t in the previous blog…) I rarely edit photos on my computer anymore. It’s more OCCASIONAL, simply because editing them on my phone is a lot easier.  The program I use it called “Afterlight” and it’s $1.99, but you could follow these steps on an computer.  The “REAL” steps don’t start until STEP FIVE.   The first few steps are just to show you how to make your photo “normal color” in the event of just learning photography.

image

This is what the program looks like when you are choosing the photo you want to edit.

image

After opening it, the editing tools come up.  Here are the steps I took to edit the photos.  The original photos we not blue so they start at step 3.

image

The first thing is to drop down the saturation a little bit so it’s not quite so blue, but NOT too much because we are also going to change the temperature of the photo.

image

After dropping the saturation, head over to “temperature” or “warmth” depending on the editor (obviously on the computer this would be a bit different).  Add temperature to make the colors more of a normal color, but do not over do it because you don’t want the photo to be orange tinted.

image

Now that you have a “normal colored” photo, add some brightness.  Again we are also going to change the exposure so, judge based on your photo.  THE NEXT STEP IS WHERE YOU START ON A REGULAR PHOTO.

image

THIS IS WHERE YOU START WITH A “REGULAR” photo aka one that is NOT blue tinted

After you add some brightness, you are also going to add exposure which is why you don’t want to OVER add the brightness.  The extra exposure gives it a lighter effect so we can turn the color into a “light soft spring feel”.

image

Once you add exposure (just a tiny bit don’t overexpose it too much).  Add some HIGHLIGHTS to the photo to make some of the colors pop.

I ACCIDENTLY DELETED THESE NEXT TWO STEPS IN PHOTOS SO PAY ATTENTION TO THE TEXT!

NEXT YOU ARE GOING TO ADD A LOT (I added 100%) OF SHADOWS! It’s going to bring out the gray in the photo, but it’s also going to give it the effect of the “Spring” time that you want.  The next step after you add shadow, is add a TINY bit of contrast, just to make it bright.

image

The last step is to “sharpen the image” I usually only do 50% so it’s not TOO sharp, but you can also leave this last step out for a softer look.
